Since 2003 the company has been actively converting the magazine circulation from free to paid for. During the last five years a dedicated subscription team has been trained and developed and a subscription database installed. At the end of 2007 a team of five generated the fifth successive subscription sales increase. The team also sells back copies and copies of the annual, specialist publications, CD Roms etc.
The management team has heavily invested in ensuring that advertisers can be confident that their advertisements within Insider Magazines are reaching the business leaders they target and that readers are enjoying and reading their monthly magazine.
Generating high response for advertisers is not something that just happens. The subscription team ensures that magazines are only sent to those who have paid for or requested a copy. The team targets board directors, owners or managing partners to ensure current and future subscribers are high level decision makers. The annual ABC Audit is the guarantee that advertisers and advertising agencies require to give them confidence that the magazines do indeed reach the numbers claimed by the sales staff. Every two years independent research is carried out to gather information used by the sales teams and to confirm to Editors and senior management that Insider readers continue to enjoy their magazine.
Only facts and information provided by research companies such as GKNOP are used by the sales team. Distribution figures quoted by the sales teams are verified annually by ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulation). The credibility of the sales teams is very high among regular advertisers because it is independently verified.
Insider's readers confirmed once again in the 2007 Readership Survey, that "they get information they cannot get elsewhere from Insider" and that Insider is highly valued for both its editorial and its relevant advertising content.
The company takes great pride in the fact that annually an independent team of auditors is sent to the head office from the Audit Bureau of Circulation to check the circulation claims made by sales staff. The process takes several days and for the last five years the annual audits have confirmed the figures issued to advertisers by sales staff to be correct.
All the Insider magazines are the largest business title in their region - it is good to have that fact confirmed independently by ABC.
